At 24, having just completed his Master's degree, Ludovic Hubler believed that discovering the realities of the world was a necessary prelude to professional life. On January 1, 2003, he embarked on a "tour of humanity," which he likes to call his "road doctorate." His adventure lasted five years, during which he used only hitchhiking in all its forms to get around. From "sailboat-hitchhiking" to cross the Atlantic and Pacific oceans to "icebreaker-hitchhiking" to reach Antarctica, passing through the Sahara and countries like Colombia and Afghanistan, Ludovic tested his thumb in every situation imaginable. A journey summarized in a book "Le Monde en Stop, 5 années à l'école de la vie" (The World by Hitchhiking, 5 years in the school of life), Pierre Loti Prize 2010. Travel was his dream, sharing his motivation. Throughout his adventure, Ludovic shared his journey through the media, his website, an educational project, and above all through more than 350 lectures in all kinds of organizations: associations, schools, universities, French alliances, etc. The idea of the Twaming platform was born from the awareness of the existence of two worlds, currently separate, that are just waiting to come together. On one side, those who would later be called Twamhosts, individuals wishing to receive external speakers. On the other, a new generation of travelers (local or international), educated, humanist and aware of the role they have to play in helping the planet. Building bridges between these two worlds via the Twaming platform was therefore TWAM's original objective, whose action now goes much further.
